Second time lucky ☺️
Following a disappointing first stay, I feel it’s only right to share our experience after returning to The Oxford Belfry. I’m so pleased to say our second visit completely restored our faith in the hotel. From the moment we arrived, every member of staff was warm, welcoming and genuinely attentive. A special mention goes to Sophie and another lovely member of the bar team (with red in her hair), who were both fantastic throughout our stay. Harry in the restaurant also deserves recognition – his service was exceptional, and he couldn’t have done more to make our dining experience enjoyable. It was clear that the feedback from our first visit had been taken seriously. The cocktails were all available, the hotel was clean, tidy and well presented throughout, and even little details we had previously raised had been addressed. Our Junior Suite was absolutely beautiful, and the treats waiting in our room were such a thoughtful touch. Most importantly, I’d like to thank Jade, the General Manager. She handled our original complaint with professionalism, listened to our concerns and gave us the opportunity to experience the hotel as it should be. Thanks to her care and the hard work of the team, we left with a completely different impression. I’m delighted to say that our second stay was everything we’d hoped for, and we would happily return again in the future. Thank you to everyone who helped turn a disappointing first experience into such a memorable one.
Great Spa day and lunch
My wife and I visited The Oxford Belfry Hotel & Spa for a spa day with lunch and had a lovely experience overall and at a great price. From the moment we arrived, the staff were warm, welcoming, and attentive, making us feel relaxed straight away. My facial treatment by Jo and Brenoa was absolutely amazing—both therapists were professional, friendly, and made the experience incredibly relaxing. It was definitely the highlight of the day. The lunch was delicious, and it was a lovely touch to enjoy it with a glass of Prosecco, which made the day feel even more special. The only downside was that parts of the hotel could do with a bit of a refresh. Some of the carpets would benefit from a deep clean, and a little repainting in places would help bring the hotel back up to the high standard of the spa and service. Overall, I had a wonderful, relaxing day and would happily return, especially for the excellent treatments and outstanding staff.
Good food, good spa, good all-round deal and experience - lovely staff too
We stayed on a Groupon deal for two nights and were very happy with our experience. The room was large, double aspect, clean with good facilities and having proper aircon was an unexpected bonus. We enjoyed our complimentary bottle of wine in the room too. Food was very good - evening meal and breakfast were well cooked (except the breakfast fried eggs - hard and cold - but that was a minor niggle) and reasonably priced; even more so given that we had £35 each to spend on our first night as part of the deal. The pool and facilities were very good too. The staff here are brilliant. From the reception to the cleaners, all were friendly and approachable. Helen in the restaurant was particularly impressive - nothing was too much trouble and she is a real asset to the hotel. A good base to explore Oxford and Thame from. We'd definitely consider staying here again.
Good service in the restaurant
We have had a brilliant stay at this hotel. We had an amazing meal in the restaurant and Helen, our waitress could not have been more helpful. A very good experience.

Great hotel and spa - fab stay!
My partner and I recently stayed at the Oxford Belfry for a 2 night stay as we wanted to visit Oxford. We upgraded to a suite as these had aircon and given the recent hot weather we wanted to ensure some sleep! We had a lovely room with a mini bar which included complimentary drinks (wine, beer and Pepsi) as well as bottled water. Rooms were clean and the bed was comfy. We had a great view of the open landscape which was lovely and no noise so a peaceful stay. We had dinner in the hotel on the Friday night which was lovely (prices were reasonable for food and drink) and the staff were on the ball - and there was plenty of people working which was great to see! Breakfast was plentiful with a hot buffet as well as cereals, fruit and yoghurts and pastries. There was also a seperate menu should you wish to order things like eggs benedict, avocado on toast etc at an extra cost. The hotel has a spa (using Elemis products) and pool with sauna and steam rooms - I had a full body massage on Saturday morning which was fab - highly recommended. Location of the hotel is a little outside of Oxford (20 minute drive) so we got an uber as we planned to have a couple of drinks whilst we were out for the day but there was a park and ride just 10 minutes away to avoid driving into the centre and getting caught in bus lanes and city traffic! You're also just 20 minutes away from Bicester Village for some high end retail therapy! Overall a great stay and I would recommend the hotel.

Service was amazing. We had Helen as our waitress and she was lovely. Very quick and efficient.
Fantastic staff: nothing too much trouble!
My wife and I had booked for a 1 night stay via Travelzoo at the beginning of July. This was our first stay at the Oxford Belfry, and we were made very welcome on arrival. It was an extremely hot day, and the cool and calm surroundings immediately made us feel relaxed and welcome. The receptionist Marcie kindly upgraded us to a superior room, which we appreciated, as it had A/C and was noticeably cooler. Unfortunately over time, the carpet underneath the unit had become damp from its condensation, and gave the room a rather musty smell. We spoke with Marcie about this, and she tried to find an alternative room, but with the hotel fully booked this was not possible. With air fresheners supplied we did not notice it any more, and had an agreeably comfortable night in a beautiful king size bed. All the staff we spoke to were really professional, smiling and helpful, especially the duty manager Mia. The breakfast was extremely good, with an extensive choice of both hot and cold courses. We would have liked to have gone for a swim in the spa, which looked very nice indeed, but unfortunately it had been closed due to a guest being taken badly ill on the day before, causing it to be closed. The hotel is very convenient for visiting Oxford, which we did after checking out. It had been a great place to stay and definitely will be back again soon.
Lovely minibreak. Perfect for families
Great stay. We stayed for 1 night hoping to have a great minibreak. It was just a shame that the room facilities weren't shipshape the beds were a little lumps and the ac was not powerful but the pool was great decent size and a great temperature for a summer break. The bestbit though was the staff the receptionist ( Emma ) was very friendly and the restaurant waitresses were very speedy considering there were only 3 of them
2 night stay.
When we arrived, we were greeted by a very helpful and polite receptionist, who checked us in without delay, and told us everything we needed to know about the hotel. Had a meal that evening, and it was very nice. The service from the waitress was excellent, and all the staff were very polite and accommodating. The breakfast was very nice, quite a good selection to choose from. We had 2 spa treatments each and they were very good. We also had an afternoon tea straight after our treatments, and I can honestly say, it was excellent. The outside courtyard seating area is really nice, and the conservatory is very comfortable too. We can’t fault the hotel at all, and we are looking forward to coming back at the end of August.
Blissful half day SPA
Had a wonderful half day SPA lunch was very tasty, superfoods salad & Creme brûlée with. Glass of Prosecco. Had a mini facial by Jo, products used smelt lovely, advice given perfect. Definitely would come back.
Lovely hotel
Lovely hotel with pool gum sauna and steam so you can make the most out of the stay. Really nice bar area and both Sophie and Caitlin were very helpful and friendly. We had a lovely suite large bathroom with double sink bath and separate shower, plus a separate living room area with sofa tv a fridge full of complimentary drinks plus tea and coffee making facilities. Would highly recommend
Amazing stay, friendly staff and yummy food
From the moment we arrived Tom was very friendly and nothing seemed too much trouble. When we got to our room we had the amazing surprise we had been given a suite. The room was amazing and we couldn't believe our luck! Throughout our stay the staff were all lovely and made us feel so welcome. Our meal in the restaurant on the first night was amazing, I had the Scallops, Mum had the crab and we both had salmon for our main. It was one of the best meals I had in a long time. Anya was so attentive and friendly. We used the pool, sauna and steam room which was not overcrowded and clean. There really was nothing we could fault with our stay. We will be back! Many thanks

Super spa day!
Excellent spa day for my friend and I. We’ve been coming for the last 7 years, usually a couple of times a year. Today was exceptional. Superb lunch - the best we’ve had. The treatments were also wonderful. Very relaxing and knowledgeable beauticians. Always enjoy the pool, steam room and sauna. We’ll be back in the autumn… for our third visit of the year! Great value!

Couples weekend away to celebrate wedding anniversary, we was also guest of the day in which we received complimentary upgrade and drink, this was a fantastic surprise, all the hotel and restaurant staff where amazing, could not of asked for more. Thank you Oxford Belfry team

Enjoyed our stay.
We stayed for 2 nights. Used the spa on arrival. Room was very clean , spacious and modern. All the staff at the spa, hotel and restaurant were very helpful and welcoming. nothing to much for them. Spa facilities are really good and well organised. Hotel is well kept and clean. Special thanks to Louise and Helen for looking after us on our anniversary meal. Note most standard rooms dont have air con or a mini bar/fridge. We knew that before booking so not an issue for us. A Fan is provided in the room and was needed as it was quite warm at night. Spa /pool was really nice, but didnt have a jacuzzi , which is pretty much standard for spas nowadays.
